The Mother Earth Day Festival was wonderful yesterday. The Lord blessed us with a beautiful day!! The DunwoodyNatureCenter did an excellent job coordinating the big day. They had 19 of the neatest stations set up through out the nature center. Here is a list of some of the stations we visited:

• Wetlands Walk with National Parks educator, Jerry Hightower
• Reptiles & Amphibians with UGA Herpetological Society
• Every Drop Counts! Interactive games with Georgia Power
• On the Road with Reptiles by the Chattahoochee Nature Center
• Plants Bite Bugs! With Georgia Native Plant Society
• Be one of the first 50 children to try out the new DNC tree house!
• How frogs predict changes in the environment
• Make a bird feeder with the Atlanta Audubon Society

Thank you to all the parents who drove and/or came out to enjoy the day with us! I have attached a few copies of some of the hand-outs we received, hope you enjoy!!

Last Friday was a fun day! We started the day off making homemade ice cream and then creating our own yummy ice cream sundaes with Tonia Kenny. Thanks Tonia for a great cooking project! The children of course think we should now start each Friday this way. Ha! I have attached the cool recipe that Tonia shared. This of course was a great primer to Kite Flying Friday! The children had a great time flying their kites and thankfully the wind was blowing!! To give you a visual…it was a bit like 285 at rush hour, even though we were on the huge soccer fields everyone was drawn to the same patch of grass! We endured however with Vanessa Cucchi’s help and lots of patience. Thanks as well to everyone who shared kites from home. It was fun to see all the different types in the air at once.
