What an exciting time Spring is!!! It is a joyful time of year as we celebrate God’s precious gifts of blooming flowers and budding trees, warmer temperatures, and most of all Easter!
We have already started delving into Spring Weather, including wind – which led us straight to kites!! Your children decorated kites and pasted them onto their Alphabet “Kk” page, and they also created “Wind Art,” where they blew (wind) through a straw and moved paint around on paper. We also read stories that pertained to these fun art projects!
Next week we will be creating stained glass crosses, and your children will practice their cutting skills by cutting the tissue paper into small squares. They will also choose how they wish to decorate their crosses with the different colored tissue paper. This is also a good exercise in which they can see what happens to the color when they place a red sheet of tissue paper over a blue sheet (for example) – it turns purple!
We will also be talking about God’s wonderful creations and we will start on our Creation books that you will get at the end of the year! In addition to that, we will have Easter related art that they can do during our Center-time.
At the end of the month we will plant seeds by using cups, dirt, seeds and water. We will watch our plants grow, gRoW, GROW all Spring long! We will also read the TINY SEED in Circle-time!
Leonie and I sure do enjoy being with your children every Tuesday and Thursday!! Thank you again for sharing them with us! We will treasure each moment from now until the end of the year!
