Last day of school Sunshine Day!

Summer has arrived and the weather is beautiful.  We are finishing our last two weeks in the gymnasium, where we held the Dunwoody Baptist Preschool Olympic Games.  We learned that the Olympic Games are played in order to foster peace and friendship for all the nations of the world.  We talked about the upcoming summer games in Beijing, China and held opening ceremonies, complete with the American flag, the National Anthem and Olympic torches.  They enjoyed obstacle courses that had them practicing various track and field skills as well as some gymnastics moves.  They participated in a long jump event and some wacky relay races too.  We completed our Olympic week with a very fun medal ceremony. 

We will wrap up our last week enjoying some of the most requested activities from the year.  We will play some musical hoops and go on a Bear Hunt together.  There will be some more free play time too!  We will also make some time to practice one of their favorite gym activities to perform for everyone on Sunshine Day.  Hope to see you there!
