Journey Below the Earth (May 11 - June 29)

Week One:

Lesson Goal: The children will learn to look to the Bible for answers for their daily lives.

Main Point: God Is My Rock; I Should Use His Word As My Foundation!

Bible Story: The story of the wise and foolish builders (Matthew 7:24-27).

Bible Verse: James 1:22 “But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.” (NLT)

Week Two:

Lesson Goal: The children will learn that they should trust God to provide for their needs.

Main Point: God Is My Provider; I Should Trust Him To Meet My Needs!

Bible Story: The story of God providing for the Israelites (Exodus 17:1-7).

Bible Verse: James 1:22 “But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.” (NLT)

Week  Three:

Lesson Goal: The children will learn that they should never give up doing what is right.

Main Point: God Is Righteous; I Should Keep Doing What Is Right!

Bible Story: Nehemiah builds the wall (Nehemiah 2, 4, 6).

Bible Verse: James 1:22 “But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.” (NLT)

Week Four:

Lesson Goal: The children will learn that God gave us rules so we could have the best life possible.

Main Point: God Knows What Is Best For Me; I Should Follow His Rules!

Bible Story: The Ten Commandments (Exodus 19 & 20:1-17).

Bible Verse: James 1:22 “But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.” (NLT)

Week Five:

Lesson Goal: The children will learn that when God asks them to do something they should do it, knowing that anything is possible with God’s help.

Main Point: God Is My Helper; I Should Do What He Asks Me To Do!

Bible Story: Joshua and the Israelites cross the Jordan River (Joshua 3,4).

Bible Verse: James 1:22 “But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.” (NLT)

Week Six:

Lesson Goal: The children will learn that because God has given them everything, they should give back to Him.

Main Point: God Is Generous; I Should Give Back To Him!

Bible Story: Jacob’s dream (Genesis 28:10-22).

Week Seven:

Lesson Goal: The children will hear the Gospel Story and have an opportunity to respond.

Main Point: God Loves Me; Jesus Invites Me To Follow Him!

Bible Story: Jesus’ life, death and resurrection (John 3:16; Matthew 28:1-6; John 20:26-31).

Week Eight:

Lesson Goal: The children will learn that they need to be the kind of person God can depend on.

Main Point: God Is Dependable; He Should Be Able To Depend On Me!

Bible Story: Jesus’ question and Peter’s answer (Matthew 16:13-19).
