Update: December 27, 2009

The Dulal's are doing great! We were able to visit them this week and took the vacumn cleaner that the KidsPlace kids brought special offering money to purchase. We also took wall art for their apartment, (they still had the posters on the walls that we created for them when we welcomed them to the states back in August.) The Tuch and Basier families also took wrapped presents for the kids! Ms. Dulal never stopped smiling and saying, "I'm so happy, I'm so happy!" Several of their family members will be arriving from the refugee camp to Atlanta on January 10. Mr. Dulal is working and he is so grateful and thankful for the DBC kids and families and for World Relief and the American people. This family is attending church and learning about Christ and His love for them. What a blessing for us to have had a small part in helping them on this journey. Let's continue to pray for them!

Update: August 3, 2009

Dulal Family arrived in Atlanta to begin their new lives in America. DBC Children's Ministry and families spent the day choosing, loading and then decorating their new Apartment in Clarkston. Several families met the Dulal's at the airport on Monday night...it was a blessing for everyone involved. Thanks to all our DBC family for donating, helping and praying for this family. We'll keep you posted on their progress and or their needs.

Each year, thousands of refugees must flee their homes to escape persecution. Since 1979, World Relief has been empowering local churches to welcome them to Atlanta. This summer, Dunwoody Baptist Church Children's Ministry is partnering with World Relief to help refugees fleeing Bhutan.

Did you know that...?

  • World Relief has already received 262 Bhutanese refugees in Atlanta
  • Their average stay in refugee camps was 10 years
  • They now live only 12.1 miles from DBC
  • They must be self-sufficient 3 months after their arrival
  • By partnering with World Relief, we can easily help them.

Please help DBC Children's Ministry help these precious people by donating any of the following items:

  • Twin and/or full sheet sets
  • Blankets
  • Bath towels
  • Toothbrushes
  • Toothpaste
  • Bars of soap
  • Shampoo/Conditioner
  • Deodorant
  • Good condition furniture, small appliances etc

Together we can make a difference, together we can be Jesus to the alien and the people groups God sends our way. Please contact Brenda Russell, Children's Minister for delivery instructions.
