James 2:14-26

Generous: Liberal in giving, characterized by a humble spirit

Squared: To set right; to test for deviation

James helps us see that genuine faith will always combine a deep trust in God and consistent action in the world.  Anyone can profess faith, but only action shows its genuineness.                                                   (Life Application Bible Commentary)

This kind of faith produces:

1. Generous giving (financial)

   *God is the object of our giving.

   *It is an act of love.

   *It is an act of faith.

   *It is an act of worship.

2. Generous living (being available)

   *Prayer

   *Encouragement

   *A quiet presence

3. Generous service (to others)

   *Doing for others what they might not be able to do for themselves

   *It is an act of obedience.

   *It honors God.
