Meet our Teacher

Lauren Young, Piano

Laura Young is the owner of Laura Young Piano. Originally from Raleigh, NC, she attended Salem College and graduated Cum Laude, earning her Bachelor of Music in Piano performance. She's had the honor to study composition with Margaret Sandresky and piano with Dr’s Anna Haun and Nancy Wurtele. She finds it fascinating to trace Dr. Wurtele’s teachers back to Rosina Lhevinne, whose students include John Williams, who composed movie soundtracks for Star Wars, Jurrasic Park, and Jaws. Other famous students include Van Cliburn, Misha Dichter and Garrick Ohlsson, all world renowned concert artists.
