REVELATION

Sundays, Beginning September 17

The book of Revelation is a letter written to seven churches as both encouragement and challenge. It uses visions and symbolic imagery to offer a glimpse of God's plan for a new creation. In this series, Pastor Allen Jackson dials down the volume of predictive prophecy and presents this important book as it was intended. It assumes that the church will be out of step with the culture. It assumes that there will be increasing hostility towards the gospel. It also challenges the church to clean up its own house. The last four chapters portray Christ’s future triumph over the forces of evil and His re-creation of the world (the New Jerusalem). The Bible’s narrative is a simple one: creation, fall, and re-creation. Without the completion of the redeeming work of Jesus recorded in Revelation, we wouldn’t have the end of the story, leaving our hope for the future in serious doubt.
