We have an active and energetic senior adult ministry that provides opportunities for fellowship, service, worship and growth as disciples of Jesus. Everyone is welcome to join us!
Young at Heart Luncheon
Young at Heart hosts events throughout the year. Our catered luncheons are scheduled on the fourth Thursday of each month from September to May and feature presentations on a number of interesting topics.
In the early weeks of the pandemic, we were hopeful that things would return to normal by late summer. However, as events unfolded, it became clear that some of these disruptions would last much longer than anticipated. Additionally, it now seems clear that senior adults and those with underlying medical conditions are more susceptible to the symptoms of Covid-19. Jesus told us to love our neighbors and this principle guides our thinking about ministry activities at Dunwoody Baptist in the near future. We desperately miss the fellowship, the conversations and the warm embraces that define Young at Heart events, but we believe it prudent to cancel all YAH activities through the end of this calendar year. While we have tentatively planned to resume luncheons in January, we will reassess the situation in late October and provide an update in early November.
In the interim, we hope you will join us for weekly worship via our internet live stream. If you need assistance with this technology or would enjoy watching the service directly on your television, we would be delighted to provide you with a Roku adapter at no charge. Please contact Allen Taliaferro for more information. If you are not presently involved in a Sunday morning Bible study and would like to participate using your telephone or internet connection, Katy Swilley can provide assistance.

Healthcare & Referral Advice
This pastoral care ministry is available for members and friends of the Dunwoody Baptist Church community. At no cost to participants, we provide advice, recommendations and introductions to those who are recovering from illness or injury, or who are facing difficult decisions related to aging and are in need of resources.
The leader of this ministry, Fran Weigard, is particularly knowledgeable about home care services and providers, hospice care options and long term residential communities. She is available to answer questions, encourage families and connect patients with providers. There is no charge for this assistance. We simply see this ministry as a way to serve our family here at Dunwoody Baptist.
