Upcoming Studies:

After Acts—The Story of the Christian Church As We Know It Today (January 9 - March 20)

Most Christians know about Christianity’s origins, and how the Church was born at Pentecost. But aside from the history aficionados among us, few Christians are familiar with what happened AFTER these recorded events, from Christianity’s rapid spread through a hostile Roman Empire, to the rise of the Imperial Church and papacy, to the radical teachings of the Protestant Reformers whose work influences us to this day. How did the Church of Jesus Christ become the diverse, and sometimes divided, institution it is today? And how can increasing our familiarity of the history of the Christian faith over the last twenty centuries transform the way we live it out in our modern age? This unique new study series will dive into an age even the most dedicated Bible-readers often fail to learn about. Over ten week, we will explore how certain “turning points” in world history were distinctly influenced by the testimony of God’s Word, the traditions of God’s Church, and those courageous individuals seeking to honor both. Whether you are a history buff or brand new to the subject, you won’t want to miss this eye-opening series!

Crucified with Christ—A Study of Paul’s Epistle to the Galatians (April 10-May 22)
The Apostle Paul’s letter to the Galatians is an extraordinary testimony of personal calling, the doctrine of justification, and the mystery of sanctification. Ever the lawyer, scholar, and debater, Paul delivers an exceptional presentation of the glory of Jesus’ gospel while also describing the truth of salvation through the picture of a redeemed and righteous lifestyle. This eight-week series will systematically unpack the overarching themes, theological doctrines, and specific practices promoted in the Epistle to the Galatians, digging into specific words and verses to deepen participants’ understanding of the gospel of grace. If you like in-depth, verse-by-verse Bible studies, don’t miss this great exploration of one of the New Testament’s most eye-opening messages. (Instructor: Bo Bowen)
