Prayer is powerful . . . Prayer is effective.
We are blessed to have 100 people serving our church by praying for the needs submitted each week. We pray for the lost, the hurting, and the hopeless. We write to them and let them know they are not alone in this. And God is faithful to hear the prayers of His people.
“The Bible tells us again and again to pray for each other. Prayer is like “connective tissue” that joins the parts of the body of Christ. We bond with those for whom we pray and with the other Intercessors. I have experienced the peace that comes when praying people lift ME up in times of crisis. I can identify with the people who write to the Prayer Ministry and say that a Prayer-Gram came at the time of greatest need and gave assurance of God’s presence and love. It is exciting when we hear of answered prayer and know that believers’ prayers are effective and powerful as we read in the Book of James. Blessing also comes, however, as He teaches us how to pray, to admit our helplessness and to claim His promises like the great pray-ers of the Bible did. He is an awesome God!” - Adele Hedrick, IPM
“Valerie and I definitely share our gratitude with you and the entire prayer team for your thoughtful and encouraging cards/Prayer-Grams and for the powerful gift of prayer. We have been and always will be firm believers in the power of God working through the prayers of His people. These past few months, as we faced the challenge of going through my tumor situation, have done nothing but affirm that belief and trust in our Father’s provision. I think the most amazing thing is the clarity of God’s hand through the whole experience in answer to our prayers.” -Tom Blaisdell, Prayer Recipient
“The Prayer Room provides us a time to pray for others who need God to intercede in their lives. I look forward to my time in the Prayer Room. God hears and answers all prayers and we are told that the prayer of a righteous man avails much. He nudges me to write the words in a prayer-gram. I find that I now pray for others each day in other places. I feel that I get more out of praying than the recipients do. I’m doing something God has told us to do, and so I’ve drawn a little closer to God. It’s hard to adequately describe the Prayer Room experience; you have to become a part of it to understand the blessing to all involved.” -Dayton Hedges, IPM
